Why Do We Celebrate Easter and Christmas?
I was on a discussion board about God and one of the topics was the pagan origins of Christian holidays. While Easter and Christmas may have had pagan origins, Christians celebrate Christmas as the birth of our Savior into this world and Easter as the resurrection of our Savior (after His death on Good Friday).
These holidays are moving more and more back toward their pagan origins. My family is a prime example of it. I was told by a family member not to talk about Jesus and religion on Easter. There has been a division in my family over Jesus because my relatives think I unnecessarily talk about repentance as the core of my faith (in addition to belief in Jesus Christ).
