I have seen custom icons with visitors’ comments. How do I upload one?
Icons next to users who comment on blogs are Gravatars. To make a Gravatar, go to http://en.gravatar.com and simply create an account using the same email address you used to comment on the church website. Your Gravatar must be rated “G” to show.
Is there somewhere I can test my Gravatar?
Yes! Pastor Paul had a contest for a free ESV Bible by having users post a comment on this post.
I created a Gravatar, but it still does not display as my icon.
Once you’ve uploaded your Gravatar, you may need to clear our your browser’s cache to see the image. Do to this by going to Internet Options and delete your history and cache. Then reload the page to see your Gravatar show.
Is registering for the Blog Updates/Newsletter different than registering for the website?
Yes, the Newsletter is completely separate from website registration. The Newsletter sign up is actually a post notification tool. The default setting is to receive only the Newsletter, but you may select any or all types of category postings.
I have a problem or question not listed here.
You can email Mark Terlecky, the webmaster, at admin@lighthousealliance.org with any issues. I’ll be happy to assist you!
