I saw a picture of that Ida fossil and was wondering – is that really the “missing link?” Did I really evolve from that?
The quick answer is NO! There are three primary reasons why I say this.
The most important reason is found in Genesis 1-2 as we see God creating man and human unique and distinct from animals. In fact, God created all things to reproduce “after its kind.” That means, since the Beginning, humans have produced more humans, monkeys have produced more monkeys, cats have produced more cats, etc.
Now, this does not negate what is micro-evolution. This means that, while dogs produce more dogs, there are variations among the dogs – long hair, short hair, dark hair, light hair, tall, short, etc. This explains why you find thick fur dogs in colder climates – because short-haired dogs cannot survive the cold climate and would have died out.
